Our Team

SOUTHWARK

This is our primary team tasked with delivering large-scale youth events, on the ground parish youth ministry and training for partners.

I am from Bristol originally, but most recently I have been working as a priest and school chaplain in Glastonbury before being appointed as director of YMIC SW.

I was nurtured and encouraged in my faith by the work of some amazing youth workers, monks, nuns, and priests who gave me confidence to grow into the person I am today.

I am so thrilled to now be in a position to nurture and encourage young people in their faith through this project. I have a deep passion for the liturgical, sacramental, and catholic life of the Church of England and I am committed to creating inclusive spaces for young people to experience faith and fun in communion with each other.

On top of being a priest, I am a keen chef, player of board games, eater of crisps, and avid reader of books!

I'm Juliet, and I'm excited to be supporting the youth through this project.

Originally from Yorkshire, I moved to North London about three years ago. I come from a Catholic background, and my faith has been an important foundation throughout my life. I've previously been involved in youth groups and have always enjoyed helping to create opportunities for young people to connect, grow, and explore their faith.

I currently work in marketing, and in my spare time I love painting and going on walks.

This role means a lot to me, as I'm passionate about supporting young people and helping create a welcoming community where they can develop in faith and friendship.

Hi, I'm Janice, one of the YMIC Southwark Network Youth Worker. Before joining, I volunteered with crisis helpline in New Zealand and the UK. If I am not around, I'm usually cooking or eating. I like to have a lovely stroll around London with a cup of coffee.

Hi, I'm Brad. I was born in Kent and now have been living in Egham for 7 years. I was a teacher of Classical Civilisation and a SEND Specialist Learning Coach for three years before embarking on my MA in Religious History.

Beyond my work with young people I am a musician, model maker, and an avid reader.

I'm very excited to be able to continue working with young people, helping and supporting them grow in life and faith

Nequela Whittaker is a dedicated youth worker with a strong passion for supporting and empowering young people. Her journey into youth work has been shaped by her lived life experience and a genuine commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people feel heard, valued, and supported. Nequela has experience delivering a range of youth-focused activities across education, sport, and creative development, always centring young people’s voices and lived experiences. In her Network Youth Worker role, she is committed to building positive relationships, promoting personal growth, and supporting young people to reach their full potential.
